June 2007
Dear Friend,
In commemoration of the 150th Anniversary of Our Lady’s apparitions to St. Bernadette, a special pilgrimage to Lourdes, France has been planned. I am pleased to announce that along with His Eminence Theodore Cardinal McCarrick, official ecclesiastical advisor, I will serve as spiritual director of this pilgrimage.
Many spiritually reflective exercises are planned for the tour, scheduled from August 11 – 17, 2008. The theme of this journey is “Mary and the Eucharist.” I will be presenting three talks centered around this theme – “Mary, Cause of our Joy,” “Christ Came to Bring Joy,” and “Living Joyfully Day by Day” throughout the pilgrimage program.
Pope Benedict XVI, in an address given at St. Peter’s Square on February 11, 2007, had this to say, “the Virgin’s appeal for prayer and penance resounds forcefully as an almost permanent echo of the invitation with which Jesus began his pilgrimage in Galilee.”
Won’t you consider joining me in August of 2008 for what promises to be a most exceptional and faith filled remembrance of Our Lady’s announcement, “I am the Immaculate Conception?” I extend to you a personal invitation to reconnect with Mary, our spiritual mother, in this special way at one of the most revered Marian Shrines of the world.
The cost of this trip package, which includes round-trip airfare from New York, Superior Tourist Class hotels, breakfast and dinner daily, transfers to and from international airports, and optional attendance at special event throughout your stay, is $2,598.00 per person based on double occupancy. Air taxes/fuel surcharges are additional.
Regina tours will handle all travel arrangements. For further information please call 1-800-CATHOLIC or visit the Regina Tours website at www.1800CATHOLIC.com. Though I will not be directly involved in making reservations or managing the tour, you may wish to visit my website as well at www.MessengerOfJoy.com where inspirational material is available to help prepare for this pilgrimage.
I look forward to meeting you in Lourdes next year, God willing. May Our Blessed Mother bless and protect you always.
To Jesus through Mary,
Father John Catoir
